"Like the People Who Cut Devil's Hair"

Imagine what those people had in minds to cut the devil's hair. It wasn't so simple to move forward doing that job. Every time they cut the devil's hair, the hair grew back like it was never cut. They kept cutting it over time but nothing prevented the hair to grow. What would they do to prevent the devil's hair from growing? Some people said, unless we cut its head off. They approved the suggestion made and went on and cut the devil's head. That was how the devil's hair was stopped from growing once and for all. The devil's hair never grow gain, there was no head to support it. Our movement history in the SPLA/M is no different with what those people had encountered. It's almost the same. Back in the late 1980s...,our movement was very strong, we captured many towns from the Khartoum government thinking that we are almost done with the Jalabas, but because we haven't took control of where its head was, they came back with full conviction and took back the towns we had captured from them. How do we win the war on Jalabas since we are not engaging them at their headquarters of training? If we don't take the fight to where its head was then we will not win the war. That's why we start operation in northern Sudan. We are coming down to cut the Jalabas head off... and that's the only reason we can be confident about them not coming back and engage us here in South Sudan. There are two ways in defeat a person, "defeat him in the mind and thinking" Once you know that your thumbs are up from this scenarios, next you know even if something is not trying to give up... down in the line they will tab out later. Our enemy is getting weak now and they will definitely understand how we roll in the SPLA/M. Make your hearts strong and that's where the power will be certained.

The late Dr. John Garang Speech, in Deng Nhial's home town.

Written by DeTall.

Our late leader Dr. John Garang quote the above story to narrate the reasons he didn't visit civilians during the civil war. I found the story very funny he was sharing his speech with the groups of civilians he was addressing in the home town of Deng Nhial. He began the story like: In the year of starvation, things were tight, no where to find food easily. There was this smart Dinka woman who defeated the challenge of the starvation and saved her kids. This was what the woman did... she puts "an axe in a pot and cook it." An aggressive reaction she envisioned after she saw how all her children were laid down with the pains of the hunger, every time when one of her children is about to pass away, she would say... kid hang on I have a meat here in the pot. This meat doesn't cook easily... hang on for me, she kept doing the experiment like that until the husband came with the food. The woman grabbed the food from her husband's hand and swapped in the real food with an axe being cooked for almost a day. There she saved her kids lives. In his conclusion, he said, a revolutionary leader don't travel for visit, a leader of a peaceful country does that. Should I came here last time when our movement was shaken by the split of the 1991, there was nothing I would have done, all I believed you would have benefited from was to see me... and seeing me without accomplishments would have made the whole situation aweful and the citizens might have surrendered to the Khartoum government. That's why I distance myself away not that I didn't love you but because not to break your hearts. I think in my case, I had an axe put in the pot those years in border of Kenya and Uganda. Now, the axe being cooked, Yei felt in the hand of SPLA, Rumbek was captured, and now am here with you talking about what are the next steps to go further. Our movement is strong like never before. We gained tough momentum and we will win our rights. In my opinion based on this piece, I found our late leader Dr. John Garang strength in relating tough scenarios with his most engaging task as the civil war leader. He led the movement at the hardest times when many of us knew nothing but total failure in our minds when we were running to the borderlines of Kenya, Uganda, and the neighboring countries.

The late leader Dr. John Garang will be remembered for life time in South Sudan. Although he is not with us physically, his contributions through speeches he gave reminds us about him at regular basis... That's my opinion and what is yours?

Our president Salva Kiir launched an attack on it but still growing like crazy. Come on citizens this must be a wake up call for everyone to act. South Sudan must be recovering from Mr. Corruption. Whether be that akumadit or akumathii, we are are to come out clean!

How will we defeat it? First of all, gut fighting is unseen. Corruption indeed something hidden in the guts, it is all about being greedy. Some of us wanted to be rich in one day which hasn't happened in the history of richness. This must end just like our leaders say.

Part of the problem: a country that is built up with so many divisions will find it hard to find the authentication codes of working together. Nepotism as another factor. Let's give ourselves rounds of applaud for working as a one people under that mess. We are to be proud that we are coming out of this very strong.

Next few months or so, we will embark on the development of South Sudan. This can not be done by one person, two, three, but more millions of literate who are specialized in their fields. Giving a job to someone who doesn't fit automatically means stopping the system. I don't care whether she/he is a sister, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle both paternal and maternal sides. What count best is doing the right thing.

The main objective is not to stop the system, kill it, slow it down or something, otherwise, wake it live in the minds of those who will take it on to the next level. There must be a change to follow. "Change has blown a whistle and we the people have to line up going forward."

Are we ready for the change? Can we rally behind the big force of getting together and move from the darkest era into a brighter future? Your reactions please is the answer to vanquish Mr. Corruption!

We are not the only country being threatened by Mr. Corruption, some parts in the world are swallowed by greediness. This is the time to tell those actions which put us in the outrage of backwardness to normal lives.

What is in the Referendum of South Sudan?

Imagine having being the most social people in the country. They folks you are so social to them don't see what you do, instead they hurt you more and more. The problem of Sudan didn't start coincidentally, there was a cause. That cause is the Khartoum government thinking like they are the only people being blessed by God or Alah to serve. How about the other groups in the country? Are they not well equipped to lead, being in the playing field as well,  I do believe that most Sudanese will not buy that minds set?

This bring us to lean toward "Referendum of South Sudan," because in it , yield us the core parts the movement was based on. We are hungry as they are hungry leadership wise. We want to control our destinations not being directed by others. Many liars have been aired that Southerners can not and will not rule themselves ... huh! if that is true, all of the sudden who in the world is rulling us? Who set up the things we do? Who can challenge these facts? The cooked up lies will not distract us from what we all believe as the solutions to the problem the country is wrestling with. Going out there to the village and to the oppressed people of the sudan is automatically a big sale to take us to the next level. This is a collectivistic language because no one of us will make Sudan as his or her ... "it's all belong to all of us" that means everyone has a take from what the country is built (Resources as the sources here).

When the South Sudan comes out as the country, the other parts of the country will claim their rights also and when their rights are given from the ones who assumed to distribute those rights; then there is a little probablility that the country can come back as one when the guts are healed. So, I challenge all the citizens in the Sudan to "Vote Separation of South Sudan" and there comes the freedom for all. South Sudan is the only part that is wishing every citizen a right to live happy, to go to school, to become that person in a conducive environment where minds are open up to ideas more than smocking, and above all; the total freedom and rights as human beings.

WELCOME EVERYONE TO "TALK OF SUDAN!"

Just want to take this moment to appreciate all the "up-rising grassroot writers" for your guts telling notes. It can never get any better than what you have done. None stop bringing in your thoughts to our website and I thank you very so much.

When was the last time the country is enjoying its resources under the will of equality and justice, when was it okay to operate smoothly in the Sudan without restrictions because of the so-called islamic sharia laws as the rule of the land, when is it the answer to celebrate without the smokes in the air of our country, and when will these things end and look hard toward the future with no headaches, killings, exiting away from our land, and calling for being the poorest people as the result of the war? Being an independent country is the only correct answer to benefit from the crucial things we failed to take care of. You need to get your voice heard and be the ambassodar underground to the top. It's time for the people of the Sudan to live in peace than fighting. "Our country or countries will never be the same again," as our late leader Dr. John Garang coined it right. He had some great thoughts about how the country was going to adjust and emerged as a powerful country in the continent. His visions is still indebted in the minds of our current leaders to take us to where we will be.

During the up-coming election; make no mistake that you have the rights to exercise your mind for the first time in the light of choosing leaders and making a decision. Democracy is now seen in our land. You the citizens are the ones to take charge and bring to us the hope we have been waiting for. Speaking of the United Sudan, I some time failed to understand its fully; thus, we have been united for decades and there was nothing good unity has brought to us. It was because of that unity why our grands, grands, grands pap and fathers took up arms to define another new day in our history. We need to try to rule ourselves than being ruled, we need a chance to build our own country which was excluded from the Sudan developments. Up here through developments, you are seeing good roads, hospitals, government buidings, business centers and the list goes on and on. Quick examples that I can share with you are: If it is so good to get oil in the land of the South Sudan, our land! why is so bad to build it up? If it's that awesome to stay in the South, why take up so much time to build where they want to live and exploit at the same time? Why and why everything in the South is put on hold? Your reactions to the election is the ultimate answer to solve all the problems we have ever had due to the unity of the country.

Everything people has a price! the price to the longest civil war was to be acknowledged as good citizens in our country. Heroes who have left went with prides thinking that to them it was a just cause which made them stayed in our minds forever spiritually, but still remembered as the icons of the our history. South Sudan, we came a long way and it's up to us to make this long way a short distance and that's to vote for referendum. Everyone has a promising point to view what will bring the total change which was coded for so long. We are very close to gain it. Let's get together and wait for the labor of the little girl, Let's welcome her with joy and peace. Long live the vision of new South Sudan . . . . . . will be the adjustment to the new Sudan if the country is willing to change its attitude. I think that the only party the country is eyeing right now is the SPLM/SPLA. Make the dream come true to all the heroes who gave lives.

Darkness was something everyone of us was talking about decades back. We came a long way from all the fightings ever took place in our country. The darkest part is now lightens by the latest election. We are now beginning to track down the importance of what it likes to be a sounding citizen in a country. Most of the developed countries choose their leaders. A leader come to power not by the military power he got, but the power of the citizens he/she has collected through their compaign. Sudan its region of South, East , West and North this is our time to think twice about the future of our country. It's this time that each an every citizen should decide who to bring into power. Nobody should be told the history of our country. We all know it and be free to tell it to those who are very hungry to learn about all the problems we have had all those years of "The Country Shaken by the few who seemed to deny our rights" This is the time to tell those few folks that; thanks for all damages you have done.

Then, on the other hand; we are to make a new page of the Sudan history. We are to build our country with new leaders that have a mind to better develop our country than burning it down with all the fights. We need peace and stability, freedom and equality, diginity and hormony for all of us. There is no such thing as somebody know as dominant in the heart of the country. The only time when that practice is employed is when we see different takes as the result of the acts. Leaders are to voice out their visions and we the people have to sign contracts with those who satisfied us with what they are going to do, what they will bring into the country as far as the new developments are eyed.

The era of no system of government in the Sudan is coming to an end. There are going to be strong set up systems around to oversee the progressive movements for our country. Sudan should lead Africa as a develop country. I think we have all it takes to just do that. Most of the world look at us like we are very poor due to the wars ever fought. There are never good reasons to deny that but as we all know; we can have some supportives to react. If it wasn't the war fought in the Sudan, we would never been categorized as the poorest country in the face of the world. We do have the resources ever country in the ground. We have some wealth with in the land and that's why this war is taking decade.

THE PRICE OF LEADERSHIP IS YOUR ACTIONS

Many up-rising leaders don't seem to get it. They took their actions for granted and never worry about what those actions could bring to the field of their leaderships. A great leader is seen as a saleperson. He must be able to sell his leadership style to the folks he is expecting to lead. Bad salespeople don't make sale to the new customers. The same tool is true to the leadership, they leaders who are not well equipped with what to do and to tell are not buying the supports from the people they are willing to change their minds for the sake of their leadership. As the leaders in the making have to find some ways to know what is right and what is bad. Must always on the good side of the story to tell and and be told later. As you can clearly see from the word history, it's nothing but an integration of the story.  Good stories are made from great histories. So, let me assured you that as long as we are one people under a collective effort nothing could be heard for us to do.

There was this story a friend of mine told me, he said that decades back; a certain person from his country was very dedicated to become a leader. He is the only one who claims to see the qualities to lead in him. The other folks don't see that. His colleagues and agemates do not have a hint whether he could be a leader or not. But certainly, they saw that he was not qualified to be talking of leading people. In the course of exercising his right as a candidate, the people had responded very swiftly. They sent him back home to take care of his household tasks rather than the country household agendas. What I am trying to address  here is that, in the sense you are forcing yourself to become a leader is much better to put a hold to pressurize yourself. Leadership just come to you like a gift. It presents in the broad daylight. People can see what you can do, who you are and what areas you should work on and not. These are the diagnoses of the great leaders.

Correction of what should be done by a leader is always a plus sign. There is no such thing called Mr. "Do Right at all basis walk of life" Somebody will have to take criticisms and when that chance is given; then you will dramatically change with the fact that criticisms are not only the ways to wake up but the ways to do better. I rather get criticized for a thing I am not doing right than making a mistake which would messed the ideas up. And even if as the say that a mistake is a change to get it right will be taken when there are no alternatives to swag in for the better choices. I ain't mad about that, what I am mad about is when folks tend to act like the know everything. And the the knowing takes over the reality of the situation, that's where we all go wrong.  I trust those who used general assumptions to collect informations and go for the target. These folks have the abilities to lead by collectives mode. Every idea whether small or big, well coded or light coded are the ways forward. These are the prices we should be eyeing for the actions we all take.

The sum of the note is based, on God given tools that we should have to back up our theoretical skills learn from our traditional system of education. It's more like knowing the difference between the street smart and book smart. Some people are considered street smart if they could and able to point ideas that would give us the market when the book is not applied. They just create effective models of making the market in which many people will benefit from. Not all people are educated. More are not having a basic education. Street smart is a commodity as well. Book smart is when people can shock the system and held by the throat by referring to what they had learned decades back. Following what book told them as a reference. Those acts are not only bad but are making the system reluctant. Learning is a never ending task. We are learning daily and through good acts we can make big things happen. Let's go out there and share our expriences in every way.

THE TOTAL TREATMENT OF CORRUPTION IS

Corruption is like no other deadly diseases but surely it does kill in many ways. One of the ways is that, the big guys are the ones draining all the resources out of the country as if the country belongs to them by themsleves....Where is the nerve to think about us than doing it your way???? And why???? Because we put you there to represent and do something for us not you....

Second is that, when the law is not attached to guide the system; then that person who is incharge has a right to operate in any way he/she wishes and nobody can hold em accountable for any demaged which might come.... And this is where we always go wrong by not looking hard at the situation and put some restrictions to it.... under aggressive folks to move the laws....NOBODY ABOVE THE LAW.

Third is, since everyone knows the root cause of it, there is immediate action that has to be taken to stop the spreading of corruption. An immediate action is based on laws to follow. Let a word lead you and the person comes next. This is how I think we can correct all the turndowned misbehaviors. A respected law doesn't fall from the above but we make it.....

Furthermore, given the job to the right person at the right time is always a stepping up and letting the bad guys take over will always take us down as the name suggested. "There is nobody stronger than the people he/she is leading, if the leader doesn't function the way people expected em to lead, the same people whom he represented have the full right to take him down officially. That's why the term of leading is given to impose a node for the time you have to lead... and if the people like you for what you have done during your time, then they are strongly geared up to put you back.

Message for leaders, for us... .....If you wanna become an oustanding leader, distinguish leader, make your public happy and you lead with no noise, but when you created noise behind you, then your leadership is not worth it. "ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND THE GOOD QUALITIES OF REPRESENTING PEOPLE AND FIGHTING FOR THEM IN DECENT WAYS OF NOT LETTING THEM DOWN."

A leader is not favored by 100% but taking a decent grade in public opinion determined what you can do and will do....It's all about what you have in you that people see. So, never lie to the folks who put you there. From here; let's hear from the suggestions, comments, and your views in this note....Come on everybody the note has no end...........................your reactions is the end of it.

All the times when I think about my aunts, cousins and brothers and fathers and mothers , and kids who were killed because of these bad practice, it kills me to think hard about what is it that we need to do to stop those who are fueling this attacks.? I know it doesn't just escalate like that....but there is a place it started. To those who are using it as the way to distract the peace in the South Sudan, hell to you. Why would you think about going back? Huh, do you like to be behind someone else while you are led into doing all the injustices? Is that what you want? But guess what, the people of South Sudan are not buying that anymore. We need peace in our country. Let's not distract the time we have which doesn't come by coincidence. Blood was shed for it. " If you are trying to gain leadership by killing the people whom you will represent, then you are in the wrong side of history." You need those people. Voice your concerns as to why you want to be a leader and if they people like your vision, more likely you can become one. It's all about democracy. That's the way to go.
